ABOUT US

Arohan in Sanskrit means ascent. In Kriya and Kundalini yoga, Arohan is the ascending psychic passage which starts from the mooladhara chakra upwards to the bindu at the back of the head. Similarly, Arohan Yoga Teacher Training Institute in Rishikesh strives for the ascent of the Self into higher awareness, for its students.

The yoga school is a family operated institution. The school follows primarily the Satyananda style of yoga. Other yoga styles like Iyengar and Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow also has its influence. Apart from yoga postures, a lot of emphases is also given upon cleansing and detoxification techniques, Pranayama and Relaxation/Meditational Techniques. The school also tries to integrate the following four/five yoga paths

Raja/Hatha Yoga: Management of different energies

Karma Yoga: Management of work and deeds

Jnana Yoga: Management of wisdom and intuitive knowledge and

Bhakti Yoga: Management of Ego

This integration helps in the systematic evolution of the spiritual aspirant. There is a special focus on imbibing the 8 limbs of Yoga of Sage Patanjali in our lifestyle. They are:

Yama (social behavior)

Niyama (personal observances)

Asana (postures),

Pranayama (breath management)

Pratyahara (pointing the senses inwards)

Dharana (concentration)

Dhyana (meditation) which ultimately leads to

Samadhi (liberation).

Arohan Yoga School in Rishikesh has a goal of training knowledgeable and evolved yoga teachers. The course curriculum is highly structured and systematic which helps in progressive learning. The course material will help the aspiring yogi even long after the course is complete. The course tends to sow the seeds (basics) of Yoga which will give shadow and fruits to the society through the hard work and compassion of the student.

Arohan Yoga understands its social responsibilities, hence they support some underprivileged students nearby in a School. Moreover, they also help some animal shelters in a limited capacity

OUR IDEALS

Shri Swami Satyananda Saraswati

He was born in 1923 at Almora (Uttaranchal) into a family of farmers. His ancestors were warriors and many of his kith and kin down the line, including his father, served in the army and police force. However, it became evident that Sri Swamiji had a different bent of mind, as he began to have spiritual experiences at the age of six when his awareness spontaneously left the body and he saw himself lying motionless on the floor.

In 1943, at the age of 20, he renounced his home and went in search of a guru. This search ultimately led him to Sri Swami Sivananda Saraswati at Rishikesh, who initiated him into the Dashnam Order of Sannyasa on 12th September 1947 on the banks of the Ganges and gave him the name of Swami Satyananda Saraswati.

Shri Swami Chinmayanada

On 8 May 1916, a child was born as so many other children were born. Born to ordinary parents – a lawyer father, a homemaker mother, Balan went to school like all kids do; he would later acquire a degree in English Literature, plunge into the Freedom Movement of India against British rule, be imprisoned, fall frightfully ill, be thrown out of jail for that, be rescued by a strange lady, start writing for a newspaper, make fiery speeches and plan even more fiery exposes and then, all too suddenly abandon all that, for none of them explained to him the purpose of his birth.

Shri B.K.S. Iyengar

Yogacharya B.K.S.Iyengar is a legend who has taught yoga in a unique way to all his students. He finds the meaning of the yoga sutras by his practical search and regular practice of yoga. Thus, he has helped all to experience the wisdom of the yoga sutras. His style of teaching yoga is called “Iyengar Yoga” and is now being followed by certified teachers across the world. These are our ideals who inspired us to give Best Yoga Teacher Training India.
